What landlords look for on a paystub

A rental-grade paystub needs: your full name and address, employer info, pay date within the last 30 days, gross pay, deductions, and net pay. Most landlords also want to see year-to-date earnings to confirm consistency.

PayStubr generates all of these fields with tax math that matches what real payroll software produces.

Self-employed? Here's what to do

Set yourself up as both the employer (your business name or LLC) and the employee. Use your average monthly take-home as the pay amount and bi-weekly or monthly frequency. Generate 2–3 consecutive stubs covering the most recent pay periods.

Is this legal?

Generating a paystub that reflects your real income is legal. Misrepresenting income to qualify for housing you can't actually afford is not — that's fraud and we don't recommend it. Use this for documenting real earnings you don't have a W-2 for.

Stop fighting with spreadsheets.
